We always enjoy visiting Westport House. It’s a stunning estate right outside the beautiful town of Westport on the rugged West of Ireland coast. The kiddies & I were delighted to be invited to enjoy the Westport House Pirate Adventure Park which is full of rides & family fun. They have some new features for the 2017 season & are open over the Easter holidays for families to enjoy.
When you enter the beautiful Westport House estate grounds, it’s like being transported back in time. The buildings & grounds are so well kept & beautiful. At the same time, they have modern rides & games for the kids to enjoy. The old & modern merge together so well to create a relaxing & fun family experience.
You can get a sense of the wonderful activities at the Westport House Pirate Adventure Park in my short video about our day…

New for 2017
New rides for 2017 includes a carousel, big wheel, games, Victorian carousel & helter skelter. Westport House has also welcomed a Birds of Prey Centre new for 2017. There are Hawk Walks available to book & daily shows at 3pm which puts you up close & personal with the gorgeous birds.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Birds of Prey Show. I took so many photos & videos that I’ve creating a separate article & video for the Birds of Prey Show at Westport House. The show was a highlight of our day!
Access to the historic Westport House is included in the Pirate Adventure Park pass. The house is full of history with beautiful old furniture, paintings & decor.
There really is so much happening this year at Westport House! You can camp there, ride the Westport Train, visit the Birds of Prey Centre, enjoy the carnival rides & Pirate Adventure Park as well as have a look around the historic house.
Our Day
Our day started off at the ticket office where we each had an anchor stamp placed on our wrists. We simply showed our stamp to get onto the rides & into the house.
There are so many wonderful rides at the Pirate Adventure Park. Some of our favorites were the new Victorian Carousel, the Pirate Queen Swinging Ship, the Log Flume Ride, Swan Boats on the lake, Train ride & Cannon Ball Run slide. My personal favorite was the swan boats – they were such a treat!
After a busy day riding the rides & before attending the Birds of Prey Show at 3pm, we enjoyed pizzas at Gracy’s Cafe which is right next to the ticket office. The Birds of Prey show is in that section of the estate as well. There’s a lovely playground right next to Gracy’s for the kids to play before & after eating. And, there’s an indoor soft play area called Pirates Den.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Westport House, their Pirate Adventure Park & Birds of Prey show. All of my kids & myself really had a great time. Thank you to Westport House for inviting us! We can’t wait to go back. It was a great way to start our Easter holidays!

Tips for Visiting Westport House Pirate Adventure Park
Arrive when the park opens, the day we went that was 11am. There is so much to see & do it’s worth getting in early.
Pack a change of trousers & socks if you are going on the log flume ride.
Pack a picnic lunch or enjoy Gracy’s Cafe on site.
Arrive a few minutes early for the Birds of Prey show because they start on time. It’s 1 hour long & well worth a visit!
Disclosure: We received complimentary admission to the park & show for purposes of this honest review, all opinions as always are my own.
