I am so excited to share our ‘Supper with Santa’ experience at the Woodlands House Hotel! If you are looking for a magical Santa experience with an overnight stay in Ireland, this is the one for you! The Woodlands have created a fun and magical winter wonderland environment within their hotel. From the moment you arrive, the elves are busy working, and the entire stay is full of fun and surprises.
If you don't make it to Supper with Santa, any overnight at the Woodlands Hotel in the lead-up to Christmas would be amazing. It is so nicely decorated. It is a wonderful festive holiday destination for families!
About the Woodlands House Hotel
The Woodlands House Hotel is located just outside the stunning village of Adare, in County Limerick, in the beautiful West of Ireland. Regular readers will certainly recognize the name of this hotel and know that we have had the great pleasure of staying at the Woodlands over the years.
It is my favourite family hotel for many reasons! There is so much to do for families there but it is also a beautiful, classy and well-appointed hotel to stay in. The food is delicious, rooms and decor always on point and current. And the staff are terrific, everyone is so nice, welcoming and helpful. Plus the Fitzgerald family are always around with a welcoming smile.
New this year :
A fantastic children's play area made out of timber with so many ways to ignite imaginative play.
The hotel's Pet Farm has also been revamped with new enclosures and new animals to see.
Timmy Mac's Bistro has had a renovation and is looking oh so stylish!
Plus the Woodlands took part in the Gift of Giving campaign 2023 with Focus Ireland Charity, collecting gifts to help those who would otherwise be forgotten.
You can read up more on the family activities and hotel amenities and more about the Hotel in my Woodlands review.
Supper with Santa
The fun began with meeting & feeding the adorable alpaca. Each family had the opportunity to walk them on a lead, feed them, and have a family photo with them. Caoimhín is fantastic with the alpacas and the kids. We really enjoyed the meet and greet.
Then we got cozy in our spacious & well-appointed family suite. We found a letter from Santa and candy canes there along with bottles of water for each of us which was a lovely touch. Little Miss was very excited with the letter and candy canes!
The family suites at the Woodlands have an attached bedroom onto the suite, with two twin beds, a wardrobe, and tv. They added a third single bed in the main suite area for us as we are a family of five. The bathroom was beautiful with a huge tub, spacious shower and two sinks. We have also stayed in their family rooms which are also very comfortable for a family of five.
Our dinner booking was for 7pm. We selected our dinners from the set menu & enjoyed the shared dessert tower of goodies. Three of us are gluten-free & they gave us delicious pavlovas & ice cream as a substitute.
During the meal, there were elves to entertain the kids, play music, games, a trivia game, & make balloon animals. So it was an upbeat and fun environment. The dinner and fun is held in the hotel's main function room so there is plenty of space and a designated dance floor.
Next up was a visit to see Santa & Mrs Claus in their grotto. An elf brought us there after dinner & we had a private chat with Santa & Mrs Claus which was full of fun and laughs. They were such craic!! I never had so many laughs with Santa and Mrs Claus before.
They gave each child a very generous gift. Little Miss received a teddy alpaca which tied in so well with the earlier alpaca exepreince, three bracelet kits, and a selection box. The boys each received Lego and a selection box.

The Rest of our Visit
We finished the evening at Dick’s bar with some hot chocolates & cocktails. The evening continued to be festive, and fun.
The next morning, we enjoyed breakfast in the newly renovated Timmy Mac’s which is looking so stylish! As always the food is delicious. There is a hot buffet, cold buffet and food that can be ordered from the menu.
After breakfast, we explored the Pet Farm, new playground, Fairy Trail, and Organic Garden - some of our favorite things to do at the Woodland House Hotel!
As always everything was perfect, from the quality of the meals to the friendliness of the staff. We always love our stays at the Woodlands House Hotel.
