Positivity Week 3: The Healing Power of Nature

Over the next 12 weeks, I will be presenting an aspect of positivity or mindfulness for us to focus on. These are all topics that I am working on myself and focusing on myself to achieve a happier mindset and calmer state of being. I’ll have a blog post each week and then quotes on my social media networks to support that week’s theme.


I will be honest with you right from the start… this week’s positivity focus is for me. Spending time in nature is something that I keep wanting to do. It’s something I know is healing for me but I keep not making time for it on a regular basis. Anytime I go for a walk or just go stand outside I feel rejuvenated and re-centered. By making this week three’s focus, I know I will make the effort!


Week one’s focus was finding your inner self and taking time to connect or meditate just for a few minutes each day. Week two focused on self love and making yourself a priority in your life.


So this week I want to suggest spending some time in nature as a great way to connect to your inner you and to give yourself some love. Even if it’s just to stand outside for a few minutes and just focus on your breathing. Or to go for a short walk. Or go play in some of the snow we are promised to get!

I’m also going to ask you to take a few minutes to look at the bigger picture of nature. Think about how each season is unique and special in its own way. Each season brings unique gifts and offers new opportunities.


Feel connected to nature and know that you are a part of nature. Part of something much bigger than you, a part of one beautiful whole. And see the beauty around you. A day with pouring rain is a beautiful day, a day with bright sunshine is a beautiful day, a day with heavy snow is a beautiful day. Every day is a beautiful day.

Try this Simple Mantra

I hope you will take a few minutes each day this week to stand outside and appreciate nature and to centre & love yourself at the same time. Follow this simple step to meditate anywhere at any time.
