Hello! Our mid-term break was absolutely brilliant! It was so nice to have the kiddies at home for the week.
Over the first weekend, we did a little shopping. I spotted some amazing Christmas decorations, which I restrained myself from purchasing. We woke up to this stunning rainbow in our backyard! And, I made tasty waffles for brunch.
We went out to dinner at The Coast Hotel, Westport with my mother & father in law. It was so lovely not to cook! I always love eating out. The view of Croagh Patrick at sunset was absolutely stunning.
It poured rain on Monday so we went to an indoor play center which was great. The kiddies exhausted themselves. I’m still blown away by the beautiful scenery along the West coast of Ireland. As a side note,t’s crazy how early the sun is setting these evenings. Winter is just around the corner although the weeks weather was mild & crips.
We carved our Halloween pumpkins on Thursday. You can find my tips for pumpkin carving with kiddies – How to Carve a Pumpkin. Here are our finished pumpkins – there are more photos in my pumpkin carving post!
On the blog front, I wrote a post entitled, “Understanding The Irish No“. It’s had more views than any other post I’ve written so far. Check it out if you haven’t read it yet. It’s my insight into Irish culture as a New Yorker. I also published “Brunch With the Makeup Fairy” – all about the fab ITWBN event I attended a couple weeks ago.
Sadly, this is the last week Trista & I are running #foodpornthursdays. It was a tough decision, but we both have other linkys & lots of kiddies so something had to give. I’ve been finding it really difficult to have time to write.
I’m also questioning if I will continue with my week at a glance series – let me know what you think about that please.
Were your kids off for mid-term break? What did you get up to?
