I had a great day out at the Boots Maternity and Infant Awards! It was my first year at this award & I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was lovely to meet fellow parenting bloggers in person & a delight to have a day out on the town on my own.
The Boots Maternity & Infant Awards are product awards where the voting is done purely by the public, there are no separate judges. The product with the highest votes wins. Categories included best parenting blog, best family car, best family holiday, best nappies & so on. It was a real honour to be a finalist!
My day started out bright & early on Irish Rail. I took the train to Dublin then the tram then another train out to the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire. The Royal Marine is a stunning hotel, right on the water. They had a gorgeous drink reception set up for us.
After a glass or two of lovely bubbles, we moved into a stunning function room for the awards. The blogger table was near the stage so we had a fab view of all the action.
The hosts for the evening were Brian Ormond & Maura Derrane who did a fabulous job.
Each person received a book which listed all of the awards by category & the finalists for each. Mixed between product awards were people awards like best dad, best mum, best siblings etc. Each person’s story was so touching, I’m glad I had tissues with me!
Some awards were announced then there would be a pause for some food & wine, then some more awards, then more food & wine. We were totally spoiled with the gorgeous meal. The day flew by & before we knew it, it was 5pm. The best parenting award was nearly last. Kellie from My Little BaBog was the well-deserved winner.
The fun rolled on for myself & Jolene from One Yummy Mummy as we headed over to the Radisson Blu St Helen’s for a gorgeous dinner & I spent the night. There will be a post about that coming soon!
