Lawlor's of Naas Review - Our Family Stay

We had a fantastic family stay at Lawlor's of Naas. Everything from our rooms to our dinner, breakfast and overall stay was fantastic. Everything is so stylish and spotlessly clean. And the staff are all so nice and welcoming.

Hotel Info

Lawlor's of Naas is a four-star hotel located in the heart of Naas town, County Kildare. You are right in the town, walkable to lots of restaurants, bars and shops yet you are in the countryside with canal walks and stunning countryside minutes away.

Lawlor's has been open since 1913 and it shows in the hotel's incredible sense of style and hospitality. They have a variety of rooms to accommodate families and corporate guests alike. There are so many beautiful spaces and function rooms throughout the hotel as well which would make it a really fun space for events. There are also beautiful outdoor gardens.

The hotel has a private underground car park which is accessible from Gleann na Greine, just off the Dublin Road.

Check-in is at 3 pm and check-out is at 12 pm.

Breakfast is served in The Bistro from 6:30 - 11 am Monday through Saturday and 7-11 am Sundays.

The hotel has two restaurants offering breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea. On the weekend you can have a marvellous brunch, check out this reel to see our brunch at Vi's. There are various pub spaces and seating areas throughout the hotel as well to have a drink and a chat.

Our Rooms

We had two double twin bedrooms right next to each other. Each spacious room had two double beds. The boys stayed in one room and Little Miss stayed with my husband and me. Both rooms were spotlessly clean, stylish and well-kept.

The ensuite was well equipped with strong water pressure, plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, washcloths and even toothbrushes! So few hotels provide washcloths these days, I was really happy to see them.

The room also had a desk with a chair and a table with two chairs so plenty of room to sit. There was a tea/coffee tray in the room and a bottle of water per person. In the closet, we had robes, slippers, an ironing board, hangers and a safe. We had everything we could want!

The flat-screen TV had the regular channels and Netflix which was great. We had a lovely Netflix and chill for the evening.

Even though we were in the heart of Naas, it was perfectly quiet in our rooms. I didn't hear any street noise whatsoever and we all had wonderful nights sleep in the comfy beds.

Dinner at The Bistro

We had a delicious dinner at the hotel's restaurant, The Bistro. We had a lovely view of the town and a really nice service. The ambience is fun, stylish and upbeat. The food is exquisite and beautifully presented. All of that being said, there is still a casual and comfortable vibe there.

We shared a portion of nachos and chicken wings for starters. For the main course, we all ended up having beef somehow! Two had steaks and three of us had the beef feather blade which was cooked to perfection. We shared two desserts as well as the main was generously portioned. Everything was delicious, beautifully presented and perfectly cooked.

Breakfast

Breakfast is served over a long period of time which makes it accessible and comfortable for people visiting for business and families or couples wanting a little sleep in. It is served from 6:30-11 am in The Bistro.

Breakfast is served as a buffet with plenty of choices including:

• Full Irish (sausage, rasher, pudding, etc)

• Fried and poached egg

• Cold Cheeses & Meats

• Fruits

• Yoghurt

• Smoothies

• Juices

• Breads & pastries (including gluten-free toast with a dedicated toaster)

• Pancakes

• Cereals

• Teas & Coffee

Everything was tasty and fresh at breakfast. We were towards the end of breakfast and there were still plenty of choices available.

Things to Do Nearby

There are loads of fun things to do in Kildare. There are options for activities both indoor and outdoor and simply taking in the beautiful Irish countryside or walking the stunning towns. Read my recent post, Things to do with Kids in Kildare for ideas.

I can't recommend Lawlor's of Naas highly enough. Our stay was nothing short of perfection. There are some amazing summer packages available so you can experience this beautiful hotel too!
