Happy Halloween! Since Halloween has fallen on a quote of the weekday, it seemed fitting to write about fear.
As a kid, I used to get scared so easily. I enjoyed carving pumpkins & getting sweets but the rest of Halloween wasn’t my cup of tea. I didn’t enjoy scaring people or getting scared myself.
The enemy is fear. We think it’s hate, but it’s fear.
The Gandhi quote above really made me think! It isn’t hate that is the enemy, it’s fear. Fear is debilitating & it can lead to stagnation & hatred. It can make us stay still or move backwards instead of moving forwards.
Letting go of fear isn’t easy but it’s so rewarding when you do! Going through life without fear but with peace instead is refreshing & calming.
I love this quote too. I think the best way to get rid of fear is by replacing it with faith. Faith that things will go how they are meant to go. Faith in yourself & faith in your belief system.
Last week, I wrote about your mindset & controlling thoughts. Fear is a thought to be controlled or erased from our thoughts. I have been working on doing this & have found so much comfort & peace now by replacing fear with faith.
Fear is not real. It is the product of thoughts.
Danger is very real, but fear is a choice.
Taking control of your thoughts is the first step, along with replacing that fear with faith & positive thought. Of course it’s not an overnight thing, it will take time & patience to conquer fears.
When so many great minds like Gandhi & Nelson Mandela spoke about fear, it has to be an important topic!
Do you find yourself held back by fears? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
And have a happy Halloween! x
