A couple weeks ago I received a very exciting tweet from @bakerdays asking me if I’d be interested in reviewing their new Letterbox Cake. I was delighted to be asked and, of course, I said yes! What is a letterbox cake you might ask? Well, it is the cutest little cake that comes through the post, and right through your letterbox!
My cake arrived in a white box and landed on my foyer floor. I opened the box to find a beautifully decorated tin inside. The letterbox cake measures 5″ in diameter (12cm x 2.5cm). It’s the smallest cake in the bakerdays family. You can send one of their letterbox cakes just like a birthday card.
Along with the cake, there was a pretty little card, a bakerdays pamphlet and a pack of love hearts. The presentation was excellent and added to the excitement of receiving a cake through my letterbox.
The cake is wrapped and has an easy pull-tab to lift it from the tin. My cake was in perfect condition, no cracks or dents in it. The ingredient list is available on their website and is also printed on the bottom of the cake plate.
bakerdays is a UK company that delivers beautiful cakes throughout the UK. All of their cakes are handmade. You may choose from hundreds of design options. Or, you may send them an image to truly personalize your cake. They offered me the choice of design but since we don’t have any occasions coming up, I said for them to choose. I never expected my little Cuddle Fairy to be on the cake. It made my day!!
My kids were even more impressed than I was with having a cake come through the letterbox. They marveled on how bakerdays managed to get Cuddle Fairy onto the cake. And, they really enjoyed eating the cake. The cake divided into cute little bite-sized slices. The kids ate the slices with their hands & quickly asked for more. Needless to say, it didn’t last very long. Our cake was the vanilla sponge. There’s a variety of cake types to choose from.
