Marinara Sauce – delicious on Homemade Pizza or over pasta!
This recipe makes enough sauce for 5 pizzas plus some left over.
Prep Time less than 5 minutes
Cook Time 10 – 15 minutes
Ingredients:
2 Cans Chopped Tomatoes
1/4 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
7 Garlic Cloves, put through a garlic press or chopped super fine
1 tsp Salt
Oregano & Black Pepper to taste
1 Large, Fresh Basil sprig – you can use dried basil if you are making the sauce last minute, but get fresh if you can, it really adds to the taste.
Method:
1. Pour the oil in a skillet, once it’s hot, add the garlic. *Do Not Brown The Garlic* as soon as it sizzles, add the tomatoes.
2. Add your seasonings & stir.
3. Add 1/2 can of water.
4. Mash the tomatoes with a potato masher. Add the basil. Let the basil wilt & stir. Taste & add more seasoning if need be.
5. Let the sauce simmer for 10 – 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste again, and season appropriately. Discard the basil.
This sauce delicious on my Homemade Pizza ! Enjoy!
